Small intimate tour of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, Dumfries, Peebles, The Scottish Borders Countryside. Each tour is designed to accommodate only 8-10 people for a more personal experience to allow you to get the most of our Scottish holiday. Keeping the tour size small gives us the opportunity to veer from the beaten track and to take advantage of accommodations, restaurants and sightseeing venues that would not be available to larger groups. You may find yourself staying in a delightful city guesthouse, a small country house hotel, a comfortable farmhouse and an old coaching Inn all in the same visit. Our goal is to show you the real Scots people and some of the wonderful sights to be sen all over this beautiful country. You will not be rushed from venue to venue and we spend as little time on the coach as possible.

Day 1- Depart for Scotland's Capitol city, Edinburgh.
Day 2 - Arrive in Edinburgh but our Scottish adventure journey begins in the city of Perth. This
afternoon we will visit Branklyn Gardens. Started in 1922 on the site of a former orchard, Branklyn is an
outstanding 2 acre garden. The rest of the afternoon is free to explore and enjoy the city before we meet up
for a Welcoming Dinner. Overnight Perth. (D)
Day 3 - After breakfast we take a short drive to Scone Palace, the home of the Earl of Mansfield.
Scone is a castellated palace, boasting a magnificent collection of porcelain, furniture, ivories, 18th century
clocks and 16th century needlework. The Earl is an avid Orchid horticulturist. Our next stop will take us to
Falkland and Falkland Palace. Before visiting the palace we will visit Kind Kyttock's’s Tearoom
for lunch. The palace is the old hunting lodge of the Stewart Kings and Queens and it houses the oldest
tennis court in the world. Don't miss a walk through the gardens here! We will then return to Perth for an
afternoon free to explore the many eateries the city has to offer. Overnight Perth. (B,L)
Day 4 - This morning we make our way to Glasgow. Our first stop is Alloa Tower the ancestral home to
the Earls of Mar and Kellie for four centuries. It is one of the largest and best constructed of its type in
Scotland. Next is a visit to Stirling Castle, one of the finest examples of Renaissance architecture in
Scotland. Mary Queen of Scots was crowned here and the Great Hall and Chapel Royal are
wonderful highlights. Dinner tonight at 2 Fat Ladies in Glasgow. Overnight Glasgow.(B,D)
Day 5 - Today we head south towards Dumfries in the county of Dumfries & Galloway. The first stop
on our way is Culzean Castle and Country Park. Standing on a cliff's edge, this 16th century keep
stands in an extensive parkland estate and is Robert Adam's finest masterpiece. There have been
productive and ornamental gardens at Culzean since the middle of the 17th century. We are then off to
Drumlanrig Castle, surrounded by the 120,000 acre Queensberry Estate, Country Park and
grand Victorian Gardens, Drumlanrig Castle was completed in 1691 by William Douglas and houses
paintings by Leonardo, Holbein and Rembrandt and a collection of French furniture. Dinner and

Day 6 - Following breakfast we will head to Threave Gardens encompassing 64 acres and including 200
varieties of daffodils, herbaceous beds, heather gardens and much more. Upon reaching Dumfries we will
lunch at The Globe Tavern, a favourite haunt of Robert Burns. After lunch we will visit the Robert
Burns House. You can see Burns’ desk and chair in the study where he wrote some of his best known
poems and many of his personal belongings. The afternoon and evening is free to explore

Day 7 - This morning we journey into the Borders area of Scotland on our way to Peebles. Our first stop
will be Moffat Woolen Mill for a little shopping. Next we are off to visit Traquair House One of the
oldest continuously inhabited houses in Scotland. Dating back to 1107 it was originally a hunting lodge for
the Kings and Queens of Scotland. Today Traquair is a truly unique piece of living history welcoming
visitors from all over the world. Then we are to the lovely borders town of Peebles. Dinner and
Overnight Peebles.(B,D)
Day 8 - After breakfast we visit Abbotsford House the home which Sir Walter Scott build in 1812 and
features an immense collection of historic relics, weapons and armour, and over 9,000 rare books. You can
also wander through the beautiful grounds, gardens and along the woodland walk. We will lunch
in the tearoom before continueing our journey. This afternoon we visit Mellerstain House, a superb
Georgian mansion featuring exquisite plaster ceilings, beautiful interior decoration, fine period furniture
and a marvelous art collection. Dinner on your own in Peebles. Overnight Peebles.(B,L)
Day 9 - Today we are visiting Thirlestane Castle, set in extensive parklands overlooking the
Lammermuir Hills and the Leader Water, a tributary of the River Tweed. The castle is one of
Scotland's finest fairytale castles spanning 800 years of history and the Maitland Family. Pub Lunch at
The Laird and Hound and then we are off to Edinburgh where the afternoon is free for shopping and
the evening for exploring the many eateries in Edinburgh. Overnight Edinburgh.(B,L)
Day 10- After breakfast you will take in the sights of Scotland's Capitol City aboard an Open Top
Tour Bus where on your way about the city you will see Holyrood Palace, Grey Friar's Bobby and
Deacon Brodie' along with Edinburgh Castle. Get on and off at your own pace. After an afternoon of
taking in Princes Street we will gather for a Farewell Dinner and Scottish Evening for our last night
in Scotland. Overnight Edinburgh.(B,D)
Day 11 - After a hearty Scots breakfast we will take one final look at this beautiful city before our journey
to Edinburgh International for your journey home.(B)
