I am 71 and traveled as a single using the single supplement.  I
did the Scottish Dream Tours "Highlands and Islands" with 7
others.  The tour itself was 16 days.  I went to Glasgow a few
days early to get used to the time difference.  I stayed at the
hotel where the tour started so I didn't have to move.  I had
done that on previous trips and found that to help a lot.  I live in
WA State so time difference is 8 hours.
My mobility problems consistent primarily of stamina and
uncertainty with rugged terrain.  I found that I had no problems
whatsoever on the trip.
The tour group is very small and individual needs are looked
after.  The tour pace is relaxed and unpressured.  All the details
are managed by the guides so you can simply relax and enjoy
the fabulous trip. Shannon and Mario handle the baggage so
you don't have to worry about your suitcase. We traveled in a
16 passenger van with plenty of room for each person; the van
was easy to get in and out of.  They always made sure that the
van was as close as possible to wherever we were stopping.  I
always had access to the van if I wanted to stay on it for short
periods or come back before the rest of the group.
The accomodations were in terrific small hotels or
bed/breakfasts all of which had great atmosphere and were
well-appointed.  You get the feeling of the Scottish culture as
you journey thru the countryside.  Great scenery, great people,
great food. Shannon has really perfected the itinerary for each
of his tours giving you maximum exposure to the area you're in.
At first glance, you might feel the price is higher than some of
the other big tours on the big buses with big groups of people.
However, you quickly learn that the price includes all the
lodging, at least 2 of 3 meals each day (often all 3), entrance
fees at attractions, ferry fares, etc. and the opportunity to have
a relaxed in-depth experience.  I would certainly say that you
receive excellent value for the price.
I would highly recommend the Scottish Dream Tours to you.  I
would be happy to answer any other questions that you might
have.  Shannon has put a great deal into his tours.  You'll have
the trip of a lifetime!

Donna is in the right front of this picture. Next to Donna is
me(Shannon) then Denise DeBlois, Chris DeBlois, Ron DeBlois,
Bruce Lushbough, Isla Lushbough, Tom Cavert and Nancy
Calvert. We are having afternoon tea at the Atholl Palace Hotel
in Pitlochry, Scotland.
As Donna was very fond of her scones she became known as
"Donna, The Scone".

scotland tours, ireland tours, wales tours, england tours Scottish Dream Tours is a small group tour operator that creates,
arranges, schedules and conducts each of our tours personally in order
to bring you the very best that Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England
have to offer. We are usually only able to offer each tour just once a
year and we only offer around 12 scheduled tours a year. We specialize
in quaint tearooms, amazing castles, glorious gardens, cozy pubs,
fascinating history, local folks and flavor, picturesque villages and
spectacular scenery. We believe there is no better way to see these
lands than on a small group tour that allows for a slower pace and time
to enjoy the scenery, lovely villages and the warmhearted people.
All of our tours are designed for small groups of a maximum of 12
people  in order to take advantage of the many different kinds of
accommodations, eateries and sights that would not be available to
larger groups. You may find yourself staying in a lovely city guest
house, a small country house hotel, a centuries old coaching Inn, a
Victorian seaside hotel, a secluded farmhouse and even possibly in a
wee Scottish Castle all in the same visit! You will find yourself dining
in unique tearooms, cozy pubs, old coaching inns, seaside restaurants
or out to a Highland Dinner and Show, Irish Music Night, A Castle
Afternoon Tea or to a Irish or Welsh Medieval Banquet.
